UNFORGETTABLE TRIPS !

The goals :

  • Putting an end to the isolation of people with a intellectual disability

  • Allowing them to acquire a level of autonomy that allows them to grow as a full-fledged person

  • Letting them discover a new environment while feeling included and like a part of society

  • Creating bonds of friendship with other people living with intellectual disabilities in the area being visited

It’s more than just a trip...

From August 28 to September 6, 2019, five lucky members of the PCM and two of our animators left more than eight hours from Montréal in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. It was in Rouyn-Noranda, at the Maison-école des artistes autistes et le monde that everyone put down their suitcases. Mohamed Ghoul, music activity animator, opened his doors for this 10-day exploratory trip.

On the program, music, discoveries, music and more music! Percussion workshops, karaoke, dance, singing workshop when visiting the Conservatory of Val d´Or, shows from the Emerging Music Festival, relaxation and theatre workshop, these activities punctuated the days. Our members with intellectual disabilities also had the chance to enjoy the surrounding nature through fishing moments, hikes followed by exchange times around the campfire.

This trip was memorable for everyone! We would like to thank the J.A DeSève Foundation for its essential contribution to this wonderful journey.

We will be taking off on Friday, September 14th, 2018 and we will be off on this escapade until September 16th! The trip to Toronto is an enriching experience for our participants, since most of them have never travelled.
