DANCE.O.TOWN’S MISSION

DANCE.O.TOWN is a unique dance-o-thon whose goal is to sensitize the population to the cause of people with a intellectual disability. Using dance as a stimulation mechanism, this event brings people together and encourages movement. It is an event that facilitates the integration, human gratification, and personal development of its members.

Through dance workshops that last all year long at Parrainage Civique Montréal, members practice a themed, choreographed dance with the aim of charming the judges during the annual Dance-O-Town. This event is a unique chance to encourage the friendship and integration of people living with a intellectual disability.

DANSE.O.TOWN 2019

COUNTRY

OCTOBER 19, 2019

The third edition of Danse.O.TOWN took place on Saturday October 19, 2019, this year on the theme Country! The Danse-O-TOWN was a great evening where the participants were able to get transformed into a cowboy, masks and costumes included. All the guests also ate good pizza served as a buffet. The traditional free candy bar was also installed.

The main activity during this event is the dance competition. PCM announced the competition a few weeks before the event, and our participants had the opportunity to participate in two dance practices at Studio Bizz with choreographer Karine Lachapelle, who also leads the dance workshop each month. During the beautiful evening of Saturday, October 19, 2019, Karine was present to guide the dancers.

All the guests could participate in the dance contest by performing, in front of judges, a choreography on the song Cotton Eye Joe by the group Rednex. The PCM team found you all very good and dynamic during the choreography. Your dance skills also impressed the judges a lot. Among these judges, participants were able to see Fernand Landry, volunteer and sponsor of the PCM, Loc Cory, Director General of the RQPC and Hélène Lokoka, Director General of the PCM. Thank you for being here!

Congratulations to the many winners and thank you all for your great participation!
