THE ARTISTIC DISCIPLINES

The visual arts, collage, comic strips, music, singing, theatre, and dance.

EXPOSITION SEMAINE DU HANDICAP 2020

It is with great pride that Parrainage Civique Montréal wanted to highlight the 2020 Quebec Week for Persons with Disabilities. It took place from June 1 to June 7, 2020.

Many artists with intellectual disabilities, dysphasia or other disabilities have created inspiring works that you will find by clicking on the 'Virtual exhibition' button below.

Based on an initiative of the Bibliothèque des Archives Nationales du Québec, this virtual exhibition highlights the artists who work alongside community organizations that support their social involvement.

Congratulations to the creators, and long life to the Arts by all and for all!

D'UN ŒIL DIFFÉRENT EXHIBITION 2020

As part of the 30th Quebec Intellectual Disability Week, the Écomusée du fier monde hosted a magnificent exhibition entitled D'un œil différent. D'un œil différent highlights works by emerging or professional artists with or without an intellectual disability or autism spectrum disorder. The event took place from 12 to 22 March 2020.

The works of 11 artists from Parrainage Civique Montréal were exhibited during this edition! We are very proud of their great achievements! These works were created by our artists during the winter 2019 session of the PCM visual arts workshop.

Every year, several hundred people flock to discover these new, inspired and precious works! During the vernissage, on March 12, 2020, 500 people came. The PCM team, many members as well as artists and sponsors were there!

On March 12, 2020, our artists had the pleasure of discovering their works framed by our partner Frame & Canvas Picture Framing. Their contribution to the project has made it possible to magnify the achievements of our members, who could not be prouder! This is the second year that Frame & Canvas Picture Framing, has supported this Project of Parrainage Civique Montréal, we thank them for it! A big thank you also to the Roger Roy Foundation, which has granted funding to PCM for, among other things, the beautiful project that is D'un œil different.

As the lockdown measures have forced the exhibition to remain closed to the public, it is now available online, via an interactive tour that you can discover by clicking on the button below.

GALLERY OPENING AND EXHIBITION
MOLINARI REVISITED

Tuesday, May 7, 2019 was the opening of the exhibition Molinari Revisited by Parrainage Civique Montréal! The event took place at the Maison de la Culture in the Plateau-Mont-Royal. The works of art exhibited were produced by our members with intellectual disabilities and two participants from a partner organization, the Petite Maison de la Miséricorde. 50 people came to the opening to appreciate the beautiful work created by the artists. It was a lovely evening spent discussing and admiring the work of our artists!

The artists were able to produce their work through the Visual Arts workshop. This workshop started in February 2018 and took place every Tuesday night from 6 pm to 8 pm. The workshop will be starting up again in September 2018.
