INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY
Intellectual disability (ID) is "characterized by significant limitations in intellectual functioning and adaptive behavior, which manifest in conceptual abilities (language, reading, writing, health, and safety), social skills (interpersonal abilities, responsibilities, self-esteem, gullibility, and naivety), and practical skills (personal care, work, independence, and domestic skills). This disability appears before the age of 18."
